About the role
This position guides the daily work of caseworkers who provide a wide range of social services to children and families. It involves oversight of cases, administrative planning, and coordination with agency leadership.
Responsibilities
- Staff Supervision: Direct caseworkers engaged in providing social services
- Case Oversight: Review and analyze case records to determine the quality of services
- Administrative Planning: Plan and supervise tasks such as assigning cases and managing workflow
- Program Coordination: Manage segments of the social services program, including planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating
- Emergency Coverage: Coordinate emergency on-call coverage and provide back-up support
- Community Engagement: Contact other agencies and represent the program in the community
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
Other Requirements
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch
- No telework option available
