Counter Staff

Responsibilities
- Engage our guests at Flour by greeting them with a smile, treating them with kindness, directing them through the ordering process, and finding the correct answers to any questions they may have.
- Work in a professional kitchen environment, demonstrating strong guest service skills and enthusiasm.
- Be part of a fun, positive, fast-paced team environment with opportunities for advancement.
- Operate equipment such as a cash register, coffee and espresso machinery, grinders, and a manual espresso machine.
- Maintain grooming and uniform standards while standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and tight spaces, and be prepared to handle various aromas and fluctuating temperatures.
- Be willing to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift.
- Recognize when and where help is needed, take feedback and direction, and encourage others to speak up when suggestions come to mind.
- Have a great sense of urgency and hospitality, and be prepared to work in a team environment.
Requirements
- Self-motivated employees with scheduling availability to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift.
- Previous bakery/cafe counter staff, barista, other restaurant front of house, or prep cook experience is helpful, but not mandatory.
- Ability to operate equipment such as a cash register, coffee and espresso machinery, grinders, and a manual espresso machine.
- Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and at times, tight spaces.
- Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures.
- Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed.
- Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards.
- Must be able to work in an environment with potential gluten exposure.
