Counter Sales Team Member - Maryville

Starting hourly rate: $18/hr. After full training, base pay is $17/hr plus commission on sales.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection, quotes, estimates, sales transactions, and product information.
• Maintain current knowledge of products, pricing, applications, and industry trends to promote customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
• Process sales transactions, refunds, credits, and related documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Support inventory management and store operations by maintaining accurate records, stocking merchandise, maintaining displays, and ensuring assigned areas remain clean and organized.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers to support store goals, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and dress code requirements; assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of retail sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, read orders, complete forms, and follow instructions.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and material handling practices.
• Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of building materials and related products.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 90 pounds.
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, stoop, squat, and perform repetitive movements as required.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office and retail equipment.

Working Conditions

• Work performed primarily indoors in a controlled environment.
• Frequent interaction with customers and operation of office and retail equipment.
