Counter Sales Person

About the role

The Counter Sales Person assists customers during the sales/purchase process and responds to inquiries professionally. They maintain product knowledge and market products, suggesting replacements or alternatives as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of product information, promotions, and advertisements.
• Market all products sold and suggest replacements/alternatives when appropriate.
• Work in a safety-sensitive capacity, maintaining constant awareness and safe behavior.
• Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test screening for various substances.
• Undergo a background check for any convictions related to job duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• One year experience in the electrical industry or knowledge of electrical products required.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Use of a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
• Bend, climb, push, and pull, including maneuvering at heights and in tight spaces.
• Routine lifting, carrying, and transporting of work-related materials up to 70 lbs., occasionally up to 70 lbs.
