About the role
The Counter Sales Lead is a resource for immediate service and product knowledge for our customers. They provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. They work closely with the branch team to assist in receiving, shipping, and stocking. They are responsible for training and mentoring Counter Sales Representatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and processing of their orders or returns
- Aid in driving electrical distribution sales for our counter business and developing new and existing customer relationships
- Train and mentor Counter Sales Representatives
- Stay informed and educated on product knowledge
- Inform manager of any potentially hazardous or elevated situations pertaining to safety or customer satisfaction
- Aid with daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping showroom and counter clean and organized
- May be required to perform other job functions within a branch when required, including but not limited to inside sales, preparing and filling orders and/or receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material, and maintaining branch equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred
- Previous branch experience preferred
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
- High School or GED - Required
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or other electrical sales environments
- Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to type on a computer keyboard
- Great attitude
- Desire to improve electrical product knowledge
