Counter-Countermeasure and Threat Discrimination Program Engineer

About the role

AeroVironment is seeking a Counter-Countermeasure and Threat Discrimination Program Engineer to provide systems analysis expertise for developing new Missile Defense System (MDS) capabilities to identify lethal objects. This role involves working within a multi-discipline, multi-source/industry team to deliver technical analysis, management, and scientific support to MDA's Counter-Countermeasures and Discrimination Directorate (MDA/SEM).

Responsibilities

• Develop and formulate options for improving the Missile Defense System's discrimination and electronic protection capabilities.
• Provide systems engineering analysis and process management, including development and review of engineering requirements, concepts of operations, and integrated schedules.
• Conduct technical performance assessments, risk analysis, and mitigation development.
• Develop electronic attack/protection modeling to support analysis and requirements development.
• Create technology maturation plans to transfer potential technologies to program offices.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to qualify for a TS/SCI clearance.
• Expertise in radar signal processing, scheduling, and object classification.
• Expertise in electronic protection and systems engineering analysis.
• Prior experience in technical performance assessments, risk analysis, and mitigation development.
• Experience in electronic attack/protection modeling development.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (desired).
• Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes (desired).
• Knowledge of Missile Defense fundamentals, including radar limitations (desired).
• Knowledge of electro-optic fundamentals (desired).
• Knowledge of radar hardware and design (desired).
