Counselor Trainee (CADC) - CARC
About the role
The Counselor in Training, under the supervision of a clinical supervisor or their designee, will provide counseling services for persons with substance use disorders and their families. This individual is working towards CADC certification and is gaining supervised experience in providing counseling, education, and support to clients with substance abuse issues and their families.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, provide counseling services to patients and their families through individual and/or group settings.
- Identify concerns and make referrals to others when needed with guidance and support from supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all forms, assessments, and file management paperwork as directed.
- Facilitate and effectively utilize evidence-based practices in individual and group counseling settings.
- Complete ASAM-based alcohol and drug assessments and develop treatment recommendations and plans with support of supervisor.
- Help patients and families identify resources in their community which support ongoing recovery journey.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field.
- Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC) within 2 years (Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association - IAODAPCA).

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $23.05 per hour - $38.49 per hour. The actual compensation offered will be dependent on factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
