Counselor - CARC

About the role

The Counselor provides outpatient services for individuals with alcohol or drug issues, focusing on assessment, treatment, education, and community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to patients and families.
• Conduct educational lectures and participate in outreach activities.
• Perform assessments, develop care plans, and document progress in patient records.
• Support patients seeking to achieve abstinence and teach about addiction, its signs, and symptoms.
• Identify resources and facilitate referrals for ongoing recovery support.
• Educate family members about addiction and their role in recovery.
• Contribute to program marketing and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC) certification from IAODAPCA.
• Associate’s Degree in a related field.
• Experience in chemical dependency treatment counseling.
• Strong communication, educational, and referral skills.
