Pupil Personnel Services Credential - School Counseling

About the role

The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) seeks a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to students and their families
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized student plans
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide programs addressing social, emotional, and academic needs
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to inform decision-making and support student growth
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and district policy
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
  • A current Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
  • Valid California teaching credential
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • At least three years of successful counseling experience
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing school counseling
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Pay

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a standard school year schedule.
