Role Overview
Participate in the care of patients undergoing treatment for Opioid Use Disorder, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe patient progress through individual and group counseling sessions.
- Engage in direct patient contact, including assessments and education on treatment and recovery.
- Identify and address clinical or case management needs.
- Assist with counseling sessions and report abuse, maltreatment, or grievances.
- Contribute to patient orientation and ensure understanding of policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) and organizational policies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support program goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a program offering internship course credit.
- Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, preferably with introductory coursework in substance abuse.
- Must pass a security background check and adhere to ethical, professional, and organizational standards.
- Meet with internship supervisor as required.
