About the role

The Fall 2026 Internship Program at ACTS is seeking compassionate and driven individuals to make a lasting impact through meaningful work.

Location

The internship program will perform duties at client service-oriented programs including secured facilities, residential programs and/or scattered site housing around the greater Tampa Bay area.

What You'll be Doing?

  • Complete admission and orientation documentation;
  • May administer or interpret screening/assessment instruments;
  • Develop treatment or service plans, which include services to accomplish;
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling;
  • Make referrals to community resources, including social, legal and educational providers;
  • Attend scheduled interdisciplinary treatment team meetings or clinical supervisory sessions and discuss aspects of client’s care and progress (or lack of same); may participate in other meetings/events as assigned;
  • Report crisis situations and treatment needs of clients to clinical personnel and supervisor;
  • Recognize client’s comprehensive needs and discuss with interdisciplinary treatment team.

What is Required?

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field and working under a formal learning contract or similar agreement with a university;
  • Eligibility status, as determined by Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 435 and/or Local Law.
