COUNSELOR INTERN

Overview of Responsibilities

• Assist with home visits, court appearances, and family meetings
• Document contacts with parents, collaterals, and professionals
• Participate in team meetings, consultations, and group supervision
• Review case files, reports, and supporting documentation
• Transport youth and parents to appointments
• Connect families with valuable community resources

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled and in good standing at an accredited university in a bachelor’s degree program (no clinical practice included)
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Physical exam including TB screening
• Required criminal clearances (State Police, FBI, and State Child Abuse)
• Successful completion of background and reference checks
• Basic computer proficiency
• Availability primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends

The Children's Home of Reading Youth, Family Services (CHOR YFS) is an affiliate of Apis Services Inc., expanding its programs to offer treatment-oriented care rather than custodial care. Today, our programs allow us to meet the critical behavioral and mental health needs of over 650 children and families every year.
