Counselor Crisis
About the role
Provides mental health screening assessments and makes appropriate interventions and referrals, in consultation with Supervisor and the on-site or on-call psychiatrist. Provides a full range of mental health treatment services 24/7, including: Mobile Outreach/Screening, responding to hotline calls, assessments, crisis counseling, case management and participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, record keeping, consultation and education.
Responsibilities
- Provides care to patients ranging in age from child through geriatric.
- Acts as clinical liaison as necessary between psychiatrists, RN and ER attending.
Qualifications
- Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in social work, psychology or closely related field; one year of experience in a psychiatric setting plus three to six months of on-the-job training and orientation or Bachelor's degree and two to three years of previous experience.
- Valid driver’s license required, as well as compliance with Qualifications to Drive a System Vehicle as well as all policies as outlined in the SJHS Fleet Management & Safety Program.
- Work requires the analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
- Work requires the ability to prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, counseling individual, group or family members, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
- Work requires providing direct, age specific patient care as appropriate to treatment setting.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.” The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
