About the role
Provides outpatient and inpatient counseling and therapeutic services to individuals with substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conducts evaluations, develops treatment plans, offers counseling, and advocates for patients and families.
- Maintains communication with referral sources, coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, facilitates court-ordered programming, and supports post-treatment recovery through aftercare planning.
- Documents activities and participates in coverage, reporting, and professional development.
- Teaches about addiction, recovery resources, and involves families in the process.
- Promotes community programs like AA, NA, and Al-Anon.
- Ensures safety and participates in educational activities and conferences.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
- BLS certification within 30 days
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong communication, assessment, counseling, and coordination skills are essential
