About the role
Provides clinical care and support to individuals with substance use disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Conducting evaluations, counseling, and developing personalized treatment plans for patients and families.
- Making treatment recommendations and serving as a liaison with the treatment network.
- Communicating progress, discharge, and aftercare plans with referral sources and families.
- Supporting patients through treatment, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, and facilitating court-ordered programs.
- Assisting with patient adjustment, motivation, and post-treatment planning, including aftercare referrals.
- Documenting activities, maintaining current knowledge of behavioral health care, and participating in evaluations and reporting.
- Providing patient and family education about addiction, resources, and recovery strategies.
- Promoting community involvement with self-help programs and participating in professional development and departmental activities.
Requirements
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- Relevant work experience is advantageous.
