About the role
The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) seeks a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students and their families
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop and implement student support plans
- Assess student needs and provide appropriate interventions and referrals
- Develop and implement classroom guidance lessons and programs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of counseling sessions and student progress
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the school district
Requirements
- A Master's degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
- A current Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling
- Valid California teaching credential
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a school setting
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of anti-bias and anti-discrimination practices
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
