Pupil Personnel Services Credential - School Counseling

About the role

The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) seeks a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students and families
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and community partners to support student success
  • Develop and implement counseling programs and activities
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized plans
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and district policy
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
  • A current Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling
  • Valid California teaching credential
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in school counseling
  • Knowledge of child development and psychology
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
