JOB SUMMARY
Central Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor to join our Behavioral Health Services. The role involves providing compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed clinical care to reduce systemic barriers to mental health and substance use supports, treatment, and services.
About the role
The Counselor-Behavioral Health Services (Counselor-BHS) will conduct diagnostic assessments, provide therapy, lead groups, and respond to crises. They will also work closely with patients, their support networks, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and provide evidence-based, strengths-based, and culturally affirming therapeutic counseling
- Develop and implement care plans based on patient needs and goals
- Facilitate psychoeducational and counseling groups
- Respond to mental health and substance use crises through trauma-informed interventions
- Advocate for patient needs and priorities
- Maintain knowledge of community resources and refer patients as needed
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Document patient care in accordance with professional standards and regulations
- Provide mental health education to staff
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mental health and substance use assessments, diagnosis, and treatment
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
