Counsel / Partner Litigation (Downtown Los Angeles)

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to join an expanding practice that offers a range of litigation services to clients in a variety of industries. The Downtown Los Angeles office of Nelson Mullins is in the historic Bunker Hill neighborhood, within walking distance of Los Angeles County’s busiest state, federal, appellate, and complex courthouses.

Responsibilities

• Draft and argue discovery motions, dispositive motions, and/or class certification motions.
• Draft and prepare pleadings and discovery, prepare for, take and defend depositions, manage document production, argue discovery, dispositive motions, and/or class certification motions, etc.
• Assist in both jury trials and bench trials.
• Broad knowledge of product liability and toxic tort litigation, including asbestos, talc, and silica cases.
• Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills with strong academic credentials.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.

Requirements

• At least 8+ years of meaningful experience in handling product liability and toxic tort litigation matters in a mid-size or large law firm setting.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.

• Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills with strong academic credentials.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.

• Strong case management skills.
• Ability to take the lead in complex litigation matters.
