About the role

As a member of the Space & Mission Systems Legal Department, you will provide responsive, high-quality legal support to the C4ISRS business area. Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare written opinions.
• Guide the resolution of legal problems, examine documents and data, and provide counsel to all levels of management, including senior management.
• Negotiate and prepare contractual documents such as licenses, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and teaming agreements.
• Stay current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, laws, regulations, and ordinances within the industries BAE Systems operates.
• Participate in reviewing, interpreting, and drafting company policies and procedures.
• Analyze and review contractual documents to protect the company’s interests.
• Consult with or refer matters to outside counsel as required, typically upon recommendation of the Deputy Chief Counsel.
• Assist with analysis and advice regarding litigation and pre-litigation matters.
• Review and advise on Intellectual Property rights, software license rights, and other intellectual property matters.
• Conduct internal investigations under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Counsel.
• Assist in the preparation of legal training courses.
• Interpret and analyze governmental regulations and policies.
• Remain current on state and federal laws, regulations, and practices affecting company business.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts or Science and a Juris Doctorate Degree.
• Admission to practice in the United States.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a transactional attorney in either an in-house or law firm environment.
• Previous Government Contracts experience in either an in-house or law firm environment with demonstrated experience independently managing and advising clients.
• Experience in a technology/product-based organization is strongly desired.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
• Self-starter able to manage and prioritize complex situations with little supervision.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $153,377 - $260,743. Individual salaries are determined by business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
