About the role
The Visa CEMEA Legal team manages Visa's legal affairs in the CEMEA region, providing advice and services to ensure business goals are met while protecting Visa's brand and minimizing legal liability and regulatory risks. This position is for an experienced attorney to support Visa's Marketing Services (part of Visa Value-Added Services) and other Visa products, services, solutions, and marketing-related matters across CEMEA markets.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated legal resource for VAS/Marketing Services in CEMEA, providing strategic advice on solution assessments, legislative requirements, and common approaches.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, developing and managing regional templates or adapting global documents to CEMEA requirements.
- Support Marketing Services teams in structuring and running promotions, marketing, and advertising initiatives, including reviews and assessments.
- Coordinate and supervise outside counsel for timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work product.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact on the business.
- Streamline, optimize, and automate legal processes, including VAS contracting, to improve efficiency.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance work efficiency and resource optimization.
- Assist with the approval of internal and external communications and presentations.
- Travel may be required as part of the role.
Requirements
- Law degree and qualification allowing for in-house practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience with an international law firm or multinational organization.
- Experience in the payment industry and advertising is advantageous.
- Excellent core legal skills with the ability to integrate legal advice and business knowledge, providing balanced risk-benefit advice.
- Strong contract review and drafting skills, along with experience in legal assessments.
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a highly matrixed, multinational organization.
- Strong communication, organization, and project implementation skills.
- Global mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
- Must work independently with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.

Schedule
Visa requires at least 3 days in-office per week; specific expectations will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
