COTA- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled occupational therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision.
• Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies the plan during treatment sessions as necessary.
• Observes residents and writes progress reports.
• Documents patient treatments, changes in condition, and other pertinent information as required.

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of New York.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
