COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the role

RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy is seeking a pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. We evaluate and treat a variety of pediatric patients with diagnoses such as sensory processing, emotional regulation, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, feeding disorders, visual motor deficits, and more. The COTA will collaborate with other professionals to help our pediatric patients reach their goals and learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals and ensure proper documentation of patient care.
• Teach patients new ways of approaching tasks and how to break down activities into achievable components.
• Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures and applicable regulations and corporate policies.
• Under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist, optimize patients’ functional abilities and skills.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
• State COTA license (or license eligible)
• CPR certification
• Valid state driver’s license
