Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Occupational Therapist to help residents restore function, maximize independence, and improve their overall quality of life.
  • Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions that promote functional independence.
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and discharge recommendations.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and billing guidelines.
  • Maintain treatment schedules while supporting efficient rehabilitation services.
  • Absorb and support supervision of rehabilitation technicians and affiliating students as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve the best possible resident outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping residents maximize independence and quality of life.
  • Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment.
