About the role
The Cost Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial efficiency and sustainability of the organization by monitoring, analyzing, and managing costs across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cost-effective allocation and use of company resources.
- Adhere to company policies, departmental procedures, and other compliance regulations.
- Process and sign off all ad hoc payments related to non-project purchase orders and invoices.
- Follow up on purchase orders and invoice approvals.
- Ensure correct allocations for all expenses.
- Verify that banking details on invoices are accurate.
- Ensure each invoice is matched with the purchase order and references the purchase order number.
- Ensure expenses are approved and comply with all company policies.
- Liaise with responsible individuals in the regions if discrepancies exist between purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare all creditor reconciliations accurately and on time.
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment packs and CSV files.
- Submit all payments with reconciliations to supplier statements (not paid to invoices only).
- Ensure accurate supplier details are captured and relevant documentation is uploaded.
- Drive tracking and reconciling of all credit card expenses.
- Complete personal development actions within agreed budget based on performance rating and career path.
- Provide professional communication and service to our client base.
- Liaise with corporate contacts, build, and develop relationships.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry.
- Intermediate accounting knowledge.
- Intermediate knowledge of all financial cycles.
- Detailed knowledge of the payments cycle.
- Intermediate knowledge of financial systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (required).
- Relevant degree such as Accounting (advantageous).
