Cost Analyst (Hybrid - Manchester, CT)
As a Costing Analyst at Bob’s, you will help maintain accurate, timely cost information that supports pricing, margin, and inventory decisions. This role combines cost analysis, master data stewardship, and issue resolution across the purchase order and invoice lifecycle.

You will analyze cost changes, validate cost inputs, resolve discrepancies, and help ensure cost-related data is accurate across systems. Your work will support financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and vendor compliance.

Responsibilities
- Analyze first cost, landed cost, and other cost drivers to identify trends, variances, and business impacts.
- Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards that communicate cost performance, exceptions, and savings opportunities.
- Evaluate vendor cost updates, tariffs, freight, and other cost changes and quantify impacts to financial results and downstream systems.
- Track and report realized and projected cost savings from vendor negotiations, product changes, and sourcing actions.
- Validate purchase order cost inputs, adders, and effective dates to ensure PO accuracy before receipt and invoicing.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies related to price, quantity, freight, tariffs, and payment terms in coordination with Accounts Payable, vendors, and internal partners.
- Maintain vendor payment terms and support alignment across Procurement, Finance, and Accounts Payable.
- Own cost-related master data, including product cost, cube or size information, and tariff rates, ensuring timely and accurate system updates.
- Identify root causes of cost variances, data quality issues, and recurring exceptions, and recommend corrective actions and controls.
- Partner with Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and IT to ensure cost changes are implemented accurately and reflected in reporting.
- Support ad hoc analysis related to new item onboarding, assortment changes, vendor negotiations, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2–3 years of experience in costing, financial analysis, merchandising support, purchase order or invoice support, master data, or a related analytical role.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP, merchandising, or master data systems preferred.
- Experience with reporting or BI tools and the ability to reconcile data across multiple sources preferred.

- Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in cost setup, data maintenance, and discrepancy resolution.
- Systems and Data Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with ERP, merchandising, reporting, and master data systems.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify root causes, resolve issues efficiently, and improve processes and controls.
- Cross-functional Communication: Ability to work effectively with Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounts Payable, IT, and external vendors.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of how product costs flow through purchasing, inventory, and financial reporting.

Pay
Expected base pay: $65,000 - $85,000 (not including potential commissions, incentives, or bonuses).
