Cost Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the onsite accounting lead for solar construction projects
- Act as a project controller and trusted finance partner to construction and development teams
- Oversee cost accounting activities related to solar project construction and capital expenditures
- Manage and improve accounting processes for high-volume invoice flow
- Review and resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies
- Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization of construction-in-progress and related project costs
- Clean up and organize accounting processes and records
- Ensure timely and accurate tracking of project costs across development and construction phases
- Support reporting and analysis related to project spend, capital budgets, and cost controls
- Interface regularly with leadership and project teams across the nation
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or controllership within construction environments
- Strong background in solar construction, power/plant construction, or general construction accounting
- Experience with fixed asset accounting and capital project accounting
- Prioritize proven ability to manage complex invoice, procurement, and purchase order workflows
- Experience supporting renewable energy, infrastructure, utility, or energy project environments
- Background serving as controller, project controller, or construction accounting leader
- Experience supporting large-scale capital project environments
- 8-12 years of progressive accounting experience
- Deep hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidation and elimination entries — you’ve done these yourself, not just reviewed them
- Track record managing and developing accounting teams, not just being the best individual contributor
- Sage Intacct or comparable mid-market ERP (NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
- Comfortable operating in an environment where you’re building the playbook as you go
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting renewable energy, infrastructure, utility, or energy project environments
- Background serving as controller, project controller, or construction accounting leader
- Experience supporting large-scale capital project environments
- 8-12 years of progressive accounting experience
- Deep hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidation and elimination entries — you’ve done these yourself, not just reviewed them
