About the role
Pride Engineering, LLC designs and manufactures highly engineered, mission-critical machine tools and equipment used globally in the production of two-piece metal cans for the beverage and food industries. As a Cost Accountant, you will participate in all financial matters of the Company, playing a key role in monthly closings and reporting key sales, cost, and profitability measures to the senior leadership team. You will also review capital expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Review and process upgrades to current installed systems (SAGE 100 ERP & Scanco systems).
- Maintain work center labor and overhead rates.
- Maintain Fixed Assets.
- Prepare Business Insurance Documents.
- Prepare Censuses for Manufacturing and Cyber Security.
- Improve summarization and understanding of root cause behind variance information.
- Support month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial write-ups, and reporting, as well as Budget, Forecast, and other reporting.
- Maintain accuracy of sales, cost, order, and backlog database (via download through Access to Excel pivot table environment).
- Implement a cycle count program to maintain accurate physical inventory counts and values.
- Analyze AP/AR/Labor processes to gain efficiency via process improvement and/or use of bolt-on software.
- Develop internal controls and fiscal policies.
- Build annual operating plans and forecast updates to meet Company growth and profitability goals.
- Maintain cash reporting and cash forecasts.
- Manage the annual audit process.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, accounting, or related financial roles with exposure to cost accounting systems.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
- Significant involvement in the monthly financial close process.
- Experience supporting financial leadership within a small to mid-sized company or business division.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Proven success in a private, fast-paced, and growing business environment preferred.
- Experience improving, redesigning, or streamlining Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience working with databases and financial data.
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated desire to develop leadership capabilities.
- Ability to partner effectively with the Controller and Management Team.
