Cost Accountant

Growing U.S.-based manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers significant exposure to manufacturing operations and collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Production on costing, inventory, margins, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost and margin analysis across material, labor, and overhead
• Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate manufacturing variances
• Support customer pricing reviews and profitability analysis
• Manage inventory valuation and ensure accurate inventory accounting
• Analyze obsolete and slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate reserves
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Prepare cost and operational reporting for management
• Help improve costing methodologies, inventory controls, and accounting processes
• Support internal and external audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience
• Cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and GAAP
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills
• Analytical, hands-on approach with the ability to partner effectively with operations
