Responsibilities
- Conduct regular cost analyses on the company’s operations, comparing factual figures against budgeted ones and identifying variances.
- Implement cost standards for materials and labor, designing and implementing cost accounting systems as required.
- Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc, to present to management, providing them with the necessary financial information to make informed business decisions.
- Examine financial records to ensure their accuracy, reconciling any discrepancies found.
- Collaborate with the company’s auditors during audit processes, providing all necessary information and answering queries.
- Work closely with production and procurement departments to develop and implement cost-saving measures.
- Monitor inventory and analyze cost reports, statements, and other financial data.
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
- Develop and implement cost-effective solutions for financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be considered a plus.
- 5+ years of proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role in the healthcare industry.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, like SAP.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills with an emphasis on forecasting and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data.
