Cost Accountant

Job Responsibilities

• Manage cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, product costing, and financial analysis.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory, fixed assets, and operating costs.
• Review and analyze cost variances to identify trends and improve financial accuracy.
• Support audit activities, compliance initiatives, and reporting requirements through preparation of documentation and schedules.
• Monitor capital expenditures, asset activity, and other cost related transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Authorization to work in the United States in accordance with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in medium to large organizations with complex accounting operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and fixed asset management software.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and audit support processes.
