Cost Accountant

About the role

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Cost Accountant for its Tulsa, OK plant. This role supports accurate reporting of product margins and monitors inventory for raw materials and finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain material master records for all Purchased and Manufactured parts.
• Work closely with purchasing and planning.
• Analyze, track, and update freight costs on all purchased parts.
• Reconcile and analyze Purchase Price and Manufacturing variances.
• Work with the controller on process improvements.
• Conduct quarterly costing reviews and cost analysis updates.
• Audit and tag Fixed Assets as necessary.
• Reconcile and analyze expenses.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Key member of Physical Inventory.
• Assist with Accounts Payable vouchering.
• Create month end Journal Entries.
• Assists with special projects, as necessary.
• Maintain site information technology asset accountability and modernization.
• Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost-effective improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of SAP, Standard Costing, and Plant Labor Absorption is helpful.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office products.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts, proportions, percentages, and apply algebra and geometry concepts.
• Problem-solving skills, able to handle multiple variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
