Cortez - Open Pit Electrician

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems.
• Utilizes technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Performs general maintenance duties.
• Work on projects throughout the entire facility running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices, using lifts and ladders.
• Performs equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.
• Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems.
• Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and provides feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Commercial Electrician required.
• Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment required.
• Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book required.
• Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC required.
• Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components required.
• Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics preferred.
• Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification preferred.
• Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high required.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 90 pounds required.
• Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision required.
• Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required.
• Excellent organizational, time management skills required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required.
• Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required.
• Willingness to work weekends and possible overtime required.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions required.
