Corrugator Technician

Responsibilities

• Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
• Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
• Checks paper on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented.
• Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager.
• Affords assistance to the crew in startup, running, changing over and cleaning up the machine.
• Setups and adjusts glue machine.
• Prepares rolls for roll stands and proper placement based on production schedule.
• Bring rolls from storage area to machine using roll clamp truck.
• Uses a computer system to set stacker controls including length, stack count, etc.
• Maintains the adhesive system for proper operation and quality.
• Monitors and maintains plant scrap baler system.
• Using a ruler, verifies dimensions on corrugated board to ensure a quality product.
• Troubleshoots machine issues and makes recommendations on improving the process.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Performs other job tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous machine operations experience in manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
• Candidates must be able to work all shifts including rotating and/or straight night shift.
• Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
• Work as a team to accomplish daily tasks.
