Responsibilities
- Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
- Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
- Checks paper on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented.
- Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager.
- Affords assistance to the crew in startup, running, changing over and cleaning up the machine.
- Setups and adjusts glue machine.
- Prepares rolls for roll stands and proper placement based on production schedule.
- Bring rolls from storage area to machine using roll clamp truck.
- Uses a computer system to set stacker controls including length, stack count, etc.
- Maintains the adhesive system for proper operation and quality.
- Monitors and maintains plant scrap baler system.
- Using a ruler, verifies dimensions on corrugated board to ensure a quality product.
- Troubleshoots machine issues and makes recommendations on improving the process.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Performs other job tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous machine operations experience in manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Candidates must be able to work all shifts including rotating and/or straight night shift.
- Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
- Work as a team to accomplish daily tasks.
