Corrosion Specialist/Sr. Corrosion Specialist

Responsibilities

• Maintain computerized corrosion and compliance documentation
• Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory agency requirements
• Manage the data necessary to support effective corrosion control programs
• Proactively identify corrosion risks and develop alternative or optimized solutions
• Successfully complete all Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks assigned to the Corrosion program
• Continually research new technologies and best practices in the industry
• Provide a representative view of the current corrosion scenario to the appropriate asset owners
• Explain and inspect construction corrosion related projects within area

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects
• Experience with Microsoft programs
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
• Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
• Ability to work alone in extreme weather conditions
• Valid Driver’s license
• Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle
• Strong commitment to Personal and Team safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Potentially requires Associates degree in Corrosion or related field

Schedule

Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays; however, this position is subject to occasional call-out and schedule adjustments as necessary.

Location

The primary area of responsibility will include the Midland pipeline/compressor station assets. The successful candidate will report to the Midland location and reside within 30 miles of that location. Geographical responsibilities may be adjusted to better manage workload.
