Corrections Utility Plant Operator - SCI Camp Hill

About the role

This position helps maintain the safe and efficient operation of the boiler plant at SCI Camp Hill while supporting inmate work crews and monitoring plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Boiler Operation: Maintain water tube boilers and interpret gauges, meters, and system indicators
• Auxiliary Equipment: Operate pumps, fans, and other support systems needed for plant performance
• Water Testing: Test boiler water chemistry and record results and chemical inventories
• Crew Oversight: Direct inmate workers and enforce safety and security standards
• Plant Care: Perform housekeeping tasks and complete daily inventories

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
