Corrections Stock Clerk - SCI Dallas

About the role

Become a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Correction at State Correctional Institution (SCI) in Dallas. In this position you will help keep operations running smoothly, maintain accurate inventories, and assist with essential services while working with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Receive vendor stock, inspect materials, match packing slips, and ensure product safety when unloading.
• Commissary Processing: Process inmate commissary orders, distribute forms, receive and scan orders as needed, verify account balances, and record transactions.
• Inmate Oversight: Provide orientation, training, and work assignments to inmates; maintain attendance records; and provide input on inmate progress.
• Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment to move large or heavy materials safely.
• Record Keeping: Input inmate credits, payroll and pay raises, and document shortages or damaged items.

Qualifications

• At least one year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Active motor vehicle driver’s license.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Pay

Starting annual salary of $44,524.00 (before taxes) for candidates new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Telework is not available.

Eligibility for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
