Mission
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office seeks enthusiastic employees to work in the EBR Parish Prison. Candidates should possess sound judgment, strong ethics, self-motivation, good people skills, and pride in their accomplishments.

Responsibilities
Corrections Deputy's job duties involve maintaining the safety and security of inmates in a correctional facility. Responsibilities include:
- Supervision and Monitoring: Observing and monitoring inmate behavior, movement, and activities to prevent disturbances and ensure compliance with rules.
- Enforcement of Rules and Regulations: Administering disciplinary actions for rule violations, maintaining order, and ensuring adherence to facility policies.
- Security and Safety: Conducting searches, maintaining security, and responding to emergencies to ensure a safe environment for both staff and inmates.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of inmate activities, incidents, and observations.
- Interactions with Inmates: Building relationships with inmates, mediating conflicts, and providing guidance to promote positive behavior.
- Training and Development: Participating in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to correctional practices and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No felony convictions
- No convictions of perjury, false statement, or moral turpitude charge as an adult
- Good moral character as determined by a background investigation
- Maintain a valid Louisiana Drivers License
