The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services seeks to hire a CORRECTIONAL OFFICER at the Raymond Laborde Correctional Center in Cottonport, LA. This position is vital in enforcing custody and control of inmates within a State penal institution.

Job Duties And Other Information

• Four Week Correctional Officer Training Academy
• Work Closely with Inmates
• Custody and Security of Inmates
• Supervise Housekeeping and Escort Prisoners
• Investigate Suspicious Activities and Perform Security Searches
• Follow Direction Given by Upper Level Officers
• Receive Firearms Training

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• One Year of Experience in Any Field

Necessary Special Requirements

• Conviction Disqualification: Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, felony, or under indictment for a felony charge.
• PREA Disqualification: Found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse or sexual activity facilitated by force, threats, or coercion.
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years old.
• Driver's License: Current driver's license required.
