Corrections Activities Specialist - SCI Greene

About the role

The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and creative Corrections Activities Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Develops, leads, and maintains recreational and wellness programs designed to support inmate growth and constructive use of time.
• Planner and conductor of structured activities, sports, and wellness programs for inmate groups.
• Teaches skills, explains expectations, and guides inmates through individual and group activities.
• Reviews activity participation, assesses program effectiveness, and maintains required reports and records.
• Directs inmates in setting up, maintaining, and organizing recreation areas and equipment.
• Maintains inventory, stores equipment properly, and requests supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Benefits

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
• Work schedule: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: Not available.

• Starting salary may be non-negotiable.
