Correctional Security Officer - Armed

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and other authorized individuals by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, entry points, and other designated locations to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering or leaving designated areas in accordance with established correctional facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while communicating observations and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• At least one year of law enforcement experience, two years of security supervisor or manager experience, or three years of security‑related experience.
• Armed Guard Card or License.
• Age 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws.

Pay

Position Type: Full Time. Rate: $18.50 per hour.
