Security Officer - Armed

Location: Grand Junction, CO 81504 • Part-Time

About the role

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Part-Time Armed Flex Security Officer to provide emergency staffing coverage for critical infrastructure accounts throughout Grand Junction and the Central Mountain region. This role is designed for experienced armed officers who can respond to short-notice staffing requests, special security assignments, and patrol coverage when operational needs arise. Officers selected for this position will support multiple client locations and help maintain uninterrupted security by filling open armed shifts and assisting with regional mobile patrol operations. Travel to and from the Grand Junction office for assigned deployments is paid. A company-provided vehicle is used for regional patrol operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security coverage for open assignments and emergency staffing requests.
• Accept call-out assignments based on operational and client needs.
• Support scheduled and unscheduled special security requests throughout the region.
• Maintain a professional and highly visible security presence at assigned locations.
• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols at designated client properties using a company-provided vehicle.
• Inspect buildings, gates, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized access.
• Respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, and security concerns.
• Take immediate action during emergencies while following established procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, emergency responders, and client representatives when necessary.
• Protect personnel, facilities, and client assets through proactive observation and sound judgment.
• Maintain control of situations through professional communication and appropriate response.
• Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Document patrol findings and security concerns using company reporting systems.
• Maintain clear communication with Operations regarding assignment updates and incident activity.
• Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted promptly.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass all required background screening.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Central Mountain region as assignments require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security, military, law enforcement, or mobile patrol experience.
• Experience protecting critical infrastructure or high-security facilities.
• Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Familiarity with electronic reporting platforms and patrol documentation.
• Flexible availability to accept short-notice assignments.

Work Environment

• Multiple client locations throughout Grand Junction and surrounding Central Mountain communities.
• Combination of vehicle patrol, foot patrol, and static security assignments using a company-provided vehicle.
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Schedule varies based on staffing needs, emergency coverage, and special requests.
• Travel for assignments is required, with paid travel provided to and from the Grand Junction office.

Pay

$18.50 per hour
