Correctional Primary Care Physician Opportunity – Houston, Texas
About the role
This is an outstanding opportunity for physicians who are passionate about caring for underserved populations in a highly collaborative, team-based environment. Physicians will provide comprehensive care within a county correctional system, working alongside experienced nursing staff, advanced practice providers, psych techs, pharmacy, radiology, dental, laboratory, and specialty support services.
Schedule
- Full-time night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- 14 shifts per month, 7 shifts per pay period
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care within a correctional health setting
- Work alongside a strong multidisciplinary support team
- Low patient volumes – approximately 2–3 patients per hour
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Eligible for Texas medical licensure
