Responsibilities
- Maintains security in buildings/towers/other posts of an adult correctional facility
- Intervenes during emergencies or altercations and gains physical control of offenders
- Supervises movement of offenders inside/outside the correctional facility
- Counsels offenders regarding minor adjustment problems and refers serious issues to appropriate staff
- Performs work in accordance with established rules/regulations/post orders/specific instructions
- Performs other related work as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Completion of Basic Training classes administered by the Department of Corrections
- Ability to complete and maintain firearms certification training administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections
- Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license
Qualifications
Employees must possess a valid vehicle operator's license. All requested documents must be received by the closing date listed.
Skills
Employees should have the ability to complete and maintain firearms certification training, perform defensive tactics, and standard first aid/CPR training.
