Correctional Farm Crew Leader

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates in farm activities (planting, cultivating, harvesting crops, feeding livestock, cleaning out barns, cutting bushes, pulling plants, transplanting seedlings, fence repairs, etc.)
• Provide direction to inmates on proper use of farm tools and care of livestock.
• Enforce safety measures.
• Maintain records and additional logs of supplies and inmate work time.
• Maintain inventory.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedule on all farm equipment and maintain proper cleaning and storage of tractors and equipment.

Requirements

• Education: High school graduate.
• Experience, Training, or Skills: Must have one year of agricultural or landscaping/grounds keeping experience.
• Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.): Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

Qualifications

• Substitute Education for Experience: Additional education or training in agriculture or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitute Experience for Education: NONE

Skills

• Must be able to enforce safety measures.
• Must be able to maintain records and logs.
• Must be able to maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
