About the role
The Correctional Facility Superintendent serves as the senior operational leader of the Vermont Department of Corrections' Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. This role oversees institutional operations, ensuring the safety and security of incarcerated individuals, staff, and the public. Key responsibilities include directing facility operations, managing security systems, classification, care, and daily living functions, leading emergency response efforts, overseeing staffing, budgeting, policy implementation, and external engagement.Responsibilities

Requirements
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in the field of corrections, including at least two (2) years administering, managing, or supervising rehabilitative, security, or correctional programs/services.
- Experience with DOC PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) requirements.
- Must provide relevant information regarding substantiated incidences of sexual abuse or resignation during a pending investigation of an allegation of sexual abuse.
- Candidates must receive a waiver from the Commissioner of Corrections for any felony conviction record or misdemeanor conviction within the past five (5) years.
