CORRECTIONAL COUNSELOR II (SPECIALIST)

About the role

This position will be assigned to the C&PR Office and will ensure the preparation of cases and the classification of incarcerated persons with respect to BPH processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of cases for Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) processes.
  • Perform peace officer duties as required.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department, other governmental agencies, health care partners, and communities.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience in a correctional setting or related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

Additional qualifications include:

  • Eligibility for a Training and Development assignment.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $9,609.00 - $12,699.00 per month.
