About the role
The ESL Teacher of Record will provide instruction to students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) in a variety of settings within the Clay Community School District. The teacher will work closely with the district's at-risk program director to ensure that ELL students receive appropriate support and resources.
Responsibilities
- Teach English language skills to students who are learning English as a second language
- Develop lesson plans and materials aligned with state and district curriculum standards
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and community members to support student learning
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Valid teaching license in the state of Indiana
- Experience working with English Language Learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in English
- Knowledge of Second Language Acquisition theories and methodologies
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using educational technology tools

Schedule
Contract length: 185 days/year annually (pro-rated based on remaining days in the school year)
