About the role
The Corporate Staff Accountant IV role is an oversight role focused on the accuracy of (1) the financial transactions and (2) the financial outputs (i.e. GAAP and SEC compliant financial statements).
Responsibilities
- Reconciles general ledger accounts.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information.
- Prepares journal entries for the general ledger.
- Participates in month-end close process and assists with the preparation of monthly reporting packages, preparation of the management financial briefings and monthly financial reviews for MedImpact and the ScriptSave Executive Team.
- Prepares and distributes individual cost centers' variance reports.
- Analyzes financial information and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for management.
- Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Acts as audit liaison with other accounting team members as required for both internal and external audits.
- Maintains responsibility for key Accounting functions (i.e. cash, investments, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, internally developed software, notes receivable, notes payable, leases, deferred rent, accounts payable, customer advances, accrued expenses, rebates, payroll, etc.).
- Utilizes internal resources to successfully perform assigned duties within the Accounting group.
- Provides day-to-day assistance in developing and administering policies, business processes and quality standards, and developing and maintaining cross-functional and interdepartmental relationships.
- Works under deadlines and quickly resolves accounting challenges that impact many of the functional areas of the company.
- Drives positive change through the organization by identifying issues and proposing solutions, seeing the selected method for resolution through, and maintaining the solution as appropriate.
- Establishes processes and procedures to make the group more streamlined and efficient.
- Develops and recommends enhancements to accounting methods and procedures.
- Researches accounting and financial reporting issues and communicates conclusions to management.
- Supervises no direct reports.
Qualifications
- BS/BA and 7+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 4 years of SME in respective areas.
- Working knowledge of Oracle EBS, Great Plains or equivalent accounting software, and strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certified Public Accountant licensure preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Full-Cycle Accounting.
- Advanced knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply GAAP concepts and rules.
- Prior experience with budget preparation and forecasting.
- Ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets.
Skills and Abilities
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Oracle EBS, Great Plains or equivalent accounting software, and strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
