Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies and GAAP
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain account reconciliations to ensure accuracy with completeness of financial records
- Investigate and explain P&L variances compared to budget, forecasts, and prior periods
- Aid with quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, including gathering and preparing supporting schedules and documentation for Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Research accounting issues and provide detailed explanations to external auditors
- Aid in approving payable invoices to ensure proper coding
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial processes
- Handle ad hoc assignments and other special projects as requested by management
Qualifications
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience with Entrata accounting software preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self-starter able to work within a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation abilities
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA designation preferred
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm
- Comprehensive knowledge of multifamily real estate accounting preferred
